and One Heart from the Rock Church
“Worship at the Merc” was born out of a longtime dream of singer Scott Hill. Born in Mississippi, Scott has been singing in churches with his family’s gospel group since he was a young boy. He traveled all around the South before God called him and two friends in 2000 to pack up their families, head out to California and start Murrieta Valley Church, where he serves as the worship pastor. Last year, Scott had a vision (the regular kind) of finding a small intimate venue where local Christian artists could take praise and worship out of the traditional church setting and into the town square. This vision became “Worship at the Merc”. He assembled a small band “Immersed”, and now brings Christ-honoring music to Old Town Temecula the first Monday of each month.
Scott’s warm tenor tone has been the perfect match for Immersed’s songwriter/keyboardist David Regier’s soulful melodies. David, worship pastor at Southwest Christian Church in Temecula, is following last year’s debut CD, “All Glory” (which saw the title track make its way onto the 2007 Women of Faith CD) with “Immersed”, expected to be released later this year. This new collection features Hill’s vocals on every song. In their first studio collaboration, there are already predictions of another winner in the title track.
